The Dairy Cottage — A Century-Old Stay with Soul

Nestled among the olive groves, just beyond the grove where generations of hands have worked the land, sits a humble old cottage with a story worth telling.

Built in 1932 on the Coolmunda Dam flat, this weathered dairy cottage stood witness to another time — long before the dam waters rose. When the area was flooded in the seventies, the cottage was carefully moved to higher ground, finding a new home on our family farm. It served as a small family home for years… until time crept in, and the cottage fell quiet.

But in 2023, we decided to bring it back to life.

With solid bones and beautiful old timberwork, the structure didn’t need replacing — it needed reviving. We stripped it right back: rotted walls came out, windows and doors were pulled off, and layers of dust were cleared away. Then came the transformation.

• 2024: Fresh paint, new plumbing, power connected, and hand-repairs.
• 2025: Final touches — furnishings, décor, and finishing details.

Now, nearly 100 years since it was first built, the Dairy Cottage is ready to open its doors again — this time, to guests looking for something real.
